Sept. 4th- Units alerted to 3247 Pigeon Cove Rd for a Manure Pit Fire.
Aug. 10th- Units alerted to 18000 block of Lincoln Highway East for an auto accident pickup truck vs motorcycle.
Aug. 4th- Chief 356 called in a working house fire in the boro of McConnellsburg. Chief 356 onscene advising a working house fire. Units arrived onscene with smoke and fire showing from the first and second floor windows and rear of the structure. Crews advanced two attack lines to the front and rear of the structure. Fire was quickly brought under control. Big thanks to the following companies for the assist.
Fulton County companies 55 & 57, Franklin County companies 9 & 18, and Bedford county company 32 for the transfer.
A 2006 Dodge Ram was recently purchased to haul the new trailer. This trailer is equipped with wildland firefighting equipment and land rescue gear as well as the Polaris Ranger 6x6 which is capable of both fighting wild fire and transported a patient from remote locations.
The lettering on this truck was generously purchased by the local VFW Post 655.

Members have been traveling to local cemetaries placing and replacing Fire Dept. memorial flags and grave markers on passed members' resting places.
This is a tradition that has continued through the years.
May 12th - E1-56 responded to establish an LZ on Great Cove Road in Knobsville for Amb 4-56 with a trauma patient. E1-56 arrived and established the LZ for LifeNet 8-1. Crews assisted in loading patient and returned once LifeNet left the scene.
April 24th - 56 units responded to Stage Coach Road for a mountain fire. Brush 1-56 arrived and found a controlled burh and caught the woods on fire and was slow moving. Personne put two lines in service and contained.
April 18th - Company 56 units were alerted to 6235 Aughwick Road for a possible cabin fire. E1-56 arrived to find a small wooded area on fire with no exposures.
April 13th - Members took part in a low angle rescue class today refreshing skills on how to properly secure and load patients to safety. Also had some fun with the "rope gun".
April 12th - Company 56 was dispatched to Lincoln Highway & Great Cove Road for a field fire. Brush 1-56 & C56 arrived finding small area involved.
2014 EMT Class is currently underway at Co 56.
Ten students are members of Co 56 and others from surrounding companies.
The class is instructed be Somerset Training Center
March 29th - Company 56 held our annual awards banquet this evening at the American Legion. Fire Company members as well as several guests enjoyed an evening of thanks recogniton. The evening started off with a meal catered by Sunnyway Diner followed by recogniton of guests and awards. A thanks to all who came and a job well done to all award winners and top responders!
March 22nd - Co 56 units were alerted to assist Co55 at 6962 Sipes Mill Road for a field fire. Units arrived finding a small area involved and worked in containment.
March 21st - Brush 1-56 & Tanker responded to 13800 Shimpstown Road in Montgomery Twp for a brush fire. Br1-56 arrived and assisted in containment while the Tanker was placed in service.
March 20th - E1-56 was on scene at LHW & Pleasant Ridge Road for a vehicle fire. Personnel put a line in service and brought the fire under control.
March 15th - Co 56 units responded to 26809 Great Cove Road in Dublin Twp assisting on the mountain fire. 56 units assisted in containment utilizing brush units and the Ranger.
March 11th - E2-56 & Tanker 56 responded to 10988 LWW in Peters Twp assisting on the house fire. Units arrived and assisted in fire suppression and overhaul. Units operated until released by Command 9.
March 8th - Co56 units alerted to 323 South Mt Top Drive for a chimney fire. E1-56 arrived finding fire contained to the flue. Personnel extinguished the fire and checked for extension finding none. Units returned.
March 5th - E2-56 transferred to Co9 with 4 at 1009 hrs while they operated on a house fire. After completing the transfer, the Engine was sent to 11 N. Fayette Street in Mercersburg for an AFA. Upon investigation found an odor of something buring and C9 requested the 1st alarm assignment bringing Tanker 56. Units operated on scene until released.
March 3rd - Co56 was dispatched to Laurel Ridge Road in the area of East Pittman Road Box 456-01 for an auto accident. Due to road conditions, Brush 2-56 responded as a rescue along with A3-56. Units arrived to find one auto in the middle of the roadway had struck a tree. One patient with minor injuries, confined. Personnel popped the drivers side door to gain access and assisted EMS in packaging. The Brush remained until the tow truck removed the vehicle.
